You've heard it a million times before: “The money is in the list.” And it's true! If you want to make money online, you need to have an email list of people who are interested in what you have to say.

But just having an email list isn't enough. You need to have a list of people who actually want to hear from you. In this post, I will show you how to build an email list of people who will actually love hearing from you.

First, you need to offer something of value in exchange for their email address. This is called a lead magnet, and it can be anything from a free e-book to a discount on your programs and services or my favorite. a Quiz Funnel.

Once you have a lead magnet, you need to promote it to your ideal client. You can do this through social media, paid advertising, your website, or even in person.

By creating an email list of people who are interested in hearing from you, you'll be able to build long-lasting relationships with people who begin to look forward to your emails. They will actually be READY to buy from you when you have something to sell them.

Step #1 Define Your Ideal Reader: The first step in building an email list is to identify who you want to be on your list. Take some time to think about who your ideal reader would be. Who would be interested in what you are offering? Think about their gender, age, interests, and other relevant characteristics. Creating a buyer persona for your list will help you target your ideal readers better, so take the time to create one. Once you have a buyer persona in mind, you can look for places to find your ideal readers.

Step #2 Find Where Your Ideal Readers Hang Out Online: Now that you have a clear idea of who you're trying to target, it's time to find out where they're hanging out. Start by searching popular social media networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, YouTube, and Pinterest. If your target audience has a blog, find out where they hang out in the comments section. You can also search in forums, such as LinkedIn and Reddit, for topics related to your industry. Alternatively, you can search for groups on these networks that might be interested in your topic.

Step #3 Create Amazing Content That Your Ideal Reader Will Love: Once you've identified where your ideal readers hang out online, it's time to create content that they will love. When creating content, put yourself in your reader's shoes.

  • What content would they find useful or entertaining?

Make sure the content you create is of high quality and well-researched, particularly if you're writing a blog post or article. You also want to ensure it's engaging and shares valuable information or insights that your readers will find useful.

Step #4 Promote Your Content in the Places Your Ideal Reader Hangs Out: Once you've created content, start promoting it in the places where your readers hang out. Create social media posts, tweet them, share them on forums and discussion boards, or directly message your content to readers. Make sure you're promoting your content on channels that your ideal reader spends the most time on. This will help you reach your target audience and get more people to subscribe to your list.

Step #5 Build a Sexy Opt-in Form to Capture Your Reader's Email Address: Now that you've got people interested in your content, it's time to capture their email addresses. You can do this by creating an opt-in form on your website. You can use a plugin or put a form on your website that people can fill out to access your lead magnet. Make sure the form looks attractive and catches people's eye. Also, include some persuasive copy on the form to convince people to sign up. You can also use exit-intent popups or scroll-triggered popups to capture visitors' emails.

Step #6 Grow Your List by Providing Value and Building Relationships: Once you've got people on your list, your job doesn't end there. To keep them on your list, you must provide value and build relationships with your subscribers. This could include sending them helpful resources, advice, and exclusive content that you only share with your list. You can also start segmenting your list to target emails to specific groups. This can help you create more personalized emails that your audience will love.

Step #7 Give Your List What They Want: Great Content They'll Love Hearing From You About: Last but not least, it's important to give your list what they want: great content. This could be anything from educational blog posts to entertaining videos and podcasts. Whatever you create, make sure it's engaging and provides information your readers will find useful. The key is to provide content your readers will love to hear from you about. This could be anything from industry news to tips and advice. By providing content your readers will love, they'll be more likely to stay on your list and be engaged with your emails.

Once people subscribe to your email list, you must ensure you're providing value in your emails. This could include anything from helpful tips and advice to exclusive content and offers. I have a client that offers a Monday Morning Soul Card Reading every Monday that her list absolutely LOVES and looks forward to, so that connection can be anything. to create a connection as long as it ADDS value to your ideal client's life. For instance, IF I was a Health Coach and my target audience were moms, I may send out a weekly meal plan for busy moms to be healthier. I would not send emails about my argument with y husband last night. The emails need to be of VALUE.

By creating an email list of people who are interested in hearing from you, you'll be able to build long-lasting relationships with people who begin to look forward to your emails. They will actually be READY to buy from you when you have something to sell them.

Building an email list of people who love hearing from you doesn't have to be difficult. With the right approach, you can build a list of subscribers who will be excited to hear what you have to say. Start by defining your ideal reader, finding where they hang out online, creating some amazing content, and promoting it in the places they're active. Then, implement an opt-in form to capture their email address and build relationships by providing valuable content. Finally, give your list what they want: great content they'll be happy to hear from you about.
